Sussex U14s vs Hampshire & Surrey at Willingdon Golf Club
Our U14s had a big day yesterday Willingdon Golf Club taking on strong sides from Hampshire Golf and Surrey Golf. The boys battled hard but came up short, losing 8–2 to Hampshire and 7–3 to Surrey.
We had four debutants:
Harry Knight Chartham Park Golf and Country Club, who got off to a fantastic start by winning one of his matches
Jacob Taylor Cottesmore Hotel Golf and Country Club, who also got off to a fantastic start by winning one of his matches to add to the Sussex points table
William Cleverley and Dylan Johnston of Copthorne Golf Club
A special mention to William Virgo West Hove Golf Club, who returned from a long recovery after a serious injury and marked his comeback in style by putting a point on the board for Sussex.
Barnaby King Crowborough Beacon Golf Club put in a top performance, winning both of his matches.
Congratulations to both Hampshire and Surrey on two top team performances — great golf all around!
We may be one of the youngest squads out there, but the feedback we’ve received has been nothing short of excellent. These boys should be incredibly proud of their performance — the future is bright!
A big thank you to Willingdon Golf Club for hosting us so well and supporting junior golf!
