The first of our inter County league games hosted by Essex was at Warley Park. We travelled down the day before for a team practice round and preparation for the game ahead. Not only did Warley Park give us a warm welcome but also good weather.

The boys enjoyed the practice round. Then Steve Orr joined us to help prepare the team for match ahead.

We got off to a strong start with all the tee shots looking positive. The pairs played well and we managed to secure 10 points which left it a 3 way tie by lunch.

The boys refuelled with ham, egg and chips and we went into the singles. The sun continued to shine, despite the extremely hot weather the team stayed focus and played some fantastic golf.

The position was looking very close by mid afternoon but Sussex continued to put the pressure on. With the last 2 matches to come in we required 2 more points to gain a victory. The boys came through putting Sussex into the lead. The final result Sussex 32, Kent 30 and Essex 28. Well done to all the team not only for the great golf played but also their attitude and behaviour whilst representing Sussex County Golf.

Thank you to Joe White our u16 Captain for his help and Thank You to Warley Park for hosting this event and having the course in great condition.
