Haywards Heath was the venue for the 1st U16 League for 2012. The weather was favourable and Sussex got of to a great start. Jack Floydd our Captain drove off the 1st tee for Sussex with a great shot putting the ball in position A. Max and Charlie went next, Max showing his experience of the course achieving a win and a half. James and George showed first rate pairing and won both their matches, followed by Jordan and Sam also gaining maximum points. The double act Terry and Tom were last to go also managing a win. This left Sussex 6 points ahead of Kent and 9 points ahead of Surrey.

The singles started off well with Marco showing his experience as a first class County player finishing his matches well before the 18th. Max and Charlie demonstrated high level of golf skill winning against Kent. James's commendable effort was unable to achieve a comeback and lost on the 18th. George's level head kept his cool and also manage a win. Jordan's first County match for Sussex produced the team 8 points, a fearless performance. Tom despite losing to Surrey had an outstanding recovery to Kent and achieved a win on the 18th.  The shot of the day must go to Terry who wrapped both matches up on the 17th with a fantastic HOLE IN ONE 214 yards, very well done.  The squad all contributed 100%, commendation to all 10 boys for their commitment and team work. A great start to 2012 with the first win for the U16, the final result Sussex 39, Surrey 34 and Kent 17. A big Thank You to Haywards Heath for allowing us to use their course. We received a very warm welcome from everyone.
