St.Augustines in Kent was the venue of the 1st  Inter County League match for 2013.
The team traveled down the day before to prepare for the match ahead. A big Thank You to St.Augustines Golf Club who made us very welcome. The team played a practise round which went very well and the weather was kind.

Unfortunately the next day the weather turned for the worse with heavy rain, but this did not dampen the squad and they were in excellent spirits. We started with the foursomes in which we managed a good start. All achieved to score. Marco Penge and Ali Crunden showed first rate pairing scoring maximum points, followed closely by Gregor Macintosh (Captain) and Joe Morley.

It was all to play for in the afternoon. Sussex ahead by one point. We went into the afternoon singles confident that the squad would perform well. All the boys got of to a positive start but unfortunately despite a commendable determination the first four matches failed to scored. Again Marco and Ali Crunden had a solid performance and managed another double win which gave us some much needed points. Nathan Longley demonstrated a high level of golf skill with a win and a halve. Thomas Thurloway's persistant pressure gained us another two points. The squad showed total team work and fellowship but we were out of luck on the course in the afternoon. The final result Kent and Surrey with 33 points and Sussex 24 points.
