Jonny Ingram wins Sussex Colts Championship.
It was not all plain sailing for Jonny, he was one shot adrift of Bradley Turner (Highwoods) at the halfway stage, level with James Sharp (Hollingbury Park) and only one shot ahead of Richard Lyons (Brighton & Hove) and Dan Milligan. In the afternoon round Jonny shot a level par 68 and was the 'leader in the clubhouse' for over an hour before being joined on 135 by Bradley Turner who was last year's SCGU Boys Champion of Champions. This called for a sudden death play-off. Both players then missed the fairway down the 436 yard first hole before Bradley pulled his second shot left of the green. Jonny responded with a 7-iron to within six feet of the pin. Bradley then made a superb third shot to the green but inexplicably missed his par putt to allow Jonny to win with a par. This was a very proud moment for father Tim (who was the first to congratulate him) and for everyone at West Hove. It was also a great addition to Jonny's CV before he jets off to the USA in August to start his golf scholarship at Linderwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
